Love Interrupted, Part 1
I have recently joined facebook, classmates, and myspace. In about 1/2 a day I was reconnected with almost everyone I knew from elementary to college. I have talked with family, friends, and sorority sisters. It has been a world win of laughs and fantastic reunions.
I have noticed that lots of people have reconnected with lost loves and loves that never blossomed. It is interesting that technology has bridge the gap in the sea of I wonder what ever happened to….. (fill in the blank).
Those who know me know I am somewhat cynical when it comes to peoples true intentions on the subject of love. It is not that I don’t believe in Love. I have been there and enjoyed the whimsical flight of the butterflies in my stomach even after seeing the good, bad and ugly side of my love interest, I was still hopelessly smitten. My cynical nature just wonders if bored people are just looking for something to do… like rekindle an old flame because now it is easier to do with all of these social networking groups. If this was the love of your life how hard did you look before google, my space and facebook became the Mecca of hey you guys remember me announcements.
The question is:
Can unquenchable feelings survive 10 to 20 years in the depths of your mind and come to light and blossom.
I found this video series on the subject: Yes I am a Psychologist at heart, so research is how I answer all of my questions? The series looks at the pros and cons of revisiting the “lost” love.
I found the documentary interesting. Haven’t we all wondered what would have happened if puppy love grew up into a dog. I prefer snakes myself. (smile).
Opinions welcome, stories (joys and horror) welcome!
enjoy the series and if you are inspired go and win back the Prom Kings heart if he isn’t married, gay or in prision. (oops cynical horns showing)
Sleep The Fountain Of Youth
How much sleep do we really need?
This a really cool video to watch. It has some great video transitions.
Researchers have yet to catalog all of the benefits of sleep, but one thing is for certain the body functions much better when it is allowed a hibernation period. The question is how much sleep is enough to cause health benefits.
Of course, the number varies by individual. I don’t think that we can mandate a number for everyone. However, because of statistics we can quote an average amount (8 hours) should do the trick.
Benefits of sleeping
- Weight loss
- Sharper Memory and Concentration
- Super Immune System
- Beauty, Radiant Glow
- Longevity
- Body Maintenance and Repair
This list has inspired me to get more rest. I am self induced insomniac, I work late into the night and get up to meet the world in less than 8 hours. I usually feel fine and function well. However, maybe I am cutting my self short on benefits that I can’t see on a daily basis. So, better safe than sorry. Beside maybe I can catch up on some REM sleep. Dreams are like free movies. In this economy, free is good price and my mind can make up some interesting plots and characters.
- One ticket please to dreamland with a side order of longevity, super memory, slimmer attributes. Starring the man of my dreams….. You know who you are.
Free College Education — The Free Ride
I found this blog this morning that talked about schools in the country that offer free tuition. The article talks about the history of the schools. How they are able to offer free tuition and famous alum who have graduated from these institutions. Most of the schools require you to work for the school, to me that is still a sweet deal…. I worked while getting my degree and I still owe student loans. This is great check out the full article. 8 tuition free colleges by Scot Allen.
